In many industries, reducing the size of compression system represents a significant goal for designers. fact, increasing power density compressor actually means lowering production costs. The chief purpose this study is to compare, in terms aerodynamic performances, centrifugal consisting an impeller and volute, innovative concept based on principle two successive impellers designed work counter-rotation. To simplify experimental research study, volute conventional maintained new design. has been replaced by having same meridian profile, whose diameter rear identical that impeller. design counter-rotation stage was carried out granting approach proposed here. numerical results underline advantage compressor, density, compared forecasts also agree significantly with tests got test bench exclusively compressors. Experimental optimization rotational speed ratio counter-rotating demonstrated possibility efficiency over wide range flow.
